Bolt, from StackBlitz, is an AI builder for websites, web apps, and mobile apps. You type your idea into the chat and Bolt builds it in your browser: it runs on WebContainers, so there is nothing to install or set up locally. By default it generates modern web apps with React, Vite, Tailwind CSS, and Node.js, you can ask for other stacks in your prompt, and mobile apps go through an Expo integration.
Bolt also covers what happens after the first draft. Bolt Cloud provides hosting, databases, and integrations, and its plans add custom domains and SEO features. You can start from Figma or GitHub, and the use cases it lists range from landing pages and stores to CRMs, booking platforms, and social apps.
Usage is measured in tokens. According to Bolt’s pricing page, the Free plan (no credit card needed) includes 300,000 tokens a day and 1M a month and puts Bolt branding on websites. Pro is $25 a month, starts at 10M tokens with unused tokens rolling over, and adds custom domains and removes the branding. Teams is $30 a month per member, Enterprise is custom, and annual billing saves up to 28%.
Verdict: a good fit if you want a quick, browser-based path from a prompt to a hosted site or app, and you are comfortable with token-based usage. Compare Lovable, v0, and Replit, and read what vibe coding is for the approach.
