GoHighLevel now has an official MCP server, which means an AI agent can read and write your HighLevel CRM in plain English without a custom integration. You connect an MCP-compatible client to the HighLevel endpoint using a Private Integration Token and a location ID, and the model can retrieve contacts, update records, send messages, search opportunities and check the calendar. The server exposes roughly 21 tools across contacts, calendar, conversations, opportunities, payments and tasks, and it is included with your GoHighLevel account at no extra charge.
It works today with any client that speaks HTTP-based Streamable MCP, including Cursor and Devin Desktop (formerly Windsurf). Support for clients that need an npx bridge, such as Claude Desktop, and for OAuth is on HighLevel’s roadmap, so the connection story should get simpler over time. It also fits a wider pattern on the platform: HighLevel runs AI agents inside its workflow builder that can call MCP tools, so MCP works in both directions.
The security point is the one to take seriously. The token is the agent’s authority over real customer data, so scope it to the minimum the agent needs, use a separate token per agent so you can revoke one without breaking the rest, and rotate tokens on a schedule. An agent with write access can change or delete records, so keep a human in the loop for higher-stakes actions.
